Sigma Alpha

A PROFESSIONAL AGRICULTURAL SOROITY

In the Fall of 2014, I joined the professional agricultural sorority, Sigma Alpha, at Auburn University. The sorority’s main goal is to teach how agriculture affects the daily lives of everyone. This is done through the sorority's main philanthropy, Ag in the Classroom. This event allows the members of Sigma Alpha to go to different schools and teach the students where different foods come from and also allows the kids to get up close and pet the animals. In spring of 2016, I was selected to be the chapter’s Historian. Through this role, I was in charge of putting together a scrapbook for the activities that took place throughout the semester. I was also in charge of planning Founders Day. Founders Day is an event that allows the current members, alumni, and faculty to come and celebrate Sigma Alpha. Being the Historian has futher refined my leadership skills and to have more patience. Sigma Alpha has also brought many great friendships in my life.
